About
i promise that when i find out what is this blog about, i’ll write it right around this area. for now think of this blog as a piñata (it could be fun to dig into it…) anyhow, i don’t like categories and categories are dangerous these days (bless your young heart trayvon), so a responsible disclaimer here: this bolg may always be a piñata!
as a committed vagabunda, here you will find interpreted, judged and distorted (you know…what people call abstract writing…) posts about anything i am bumping into these days. you may even learn some spanish because my “english is not too good looking,” I. M. Rosas, and anyway there are things that sound better in spanish, and also you should have at the least a second language in your brain (if you don’t yet, that is) so have your translator browser open as well.
oh, bit about me, i was conceived by a dysfunctional couple in 1975.
i popped out in ’76 with “little to no hair on my tongue” (suggest googling spanish colloquial slang. i crack myself up translating literally spanish slang into english…it sounds funny) oh also, i go into tangents a LOT…i love spontaneity :-/
back to what i was saying, i was born in an enchanting, yet impoverished island in the caribbean.
yet, I was born within way too much privilege and was raised completely naive to this reality. however, like my paisanos, i received an education designed for the colonized. WHAT? i can go on and on when it comes to oppressive-like educational styles in general, but when it comes to the one i received, i rather use my vocal cords voice…rather than my writing voice, as the former, i feel, falls too short to explain the magnitude of its damage.
i have devoted my live to understanding and struggling against the mind of the colonized.
i am walking-socialpsychologist-junkie, sometimes an activist and always obsessed with breaking the fear of sovereignty, especially within impoverished communities (majority) in my homeland, Puerto Rico.
i also love telling stories thru paintings (never been trained as one, though)
and i am a kinda full time multidisciplinary performer (read, This is Personal, post so you’ll see what I mean by “kinda-full time!”)
lastly, but always, cristina’s heart yells: Viva Puerto Rico Libre de opression politica, social, economica, educativa y mental!

Thanks Mette for writing. I want to keep in touch will all you guys, but it is so hard to make time to write to everyone. I rather talk or meet. I thought that a blog could be a good and fun idea to stay connected.
How is your belly? I would love to touch it. Is it moving? I can’t wait to see the pictures. When are you coming to visit me? I would love to have you here!
